Jackpot.com is a fairly young lottery site established in 2016, but its credentials are solid as it is licensed in Malta and the UK Gambling Commission. What makes Jackpot.com different than most other online lottery sites  because Jackpot.com does not sell actual tickets to the lottery; it is simply a place to bet on lottery drawings held around the world.

However, what Jackpot.com offers should not be mistaken for a simple game of predicting which numbers will be drawn. Jackpot.com matches 100% of all real-world payouts. That means if you place a winning bet on the Powerball jackpot and win, you will still be paid as if you won the actual drawing.

The odds of winning, the winning numbers, and the prizes paid are the same at Jackpot.com as if you had purchased a ticket in-person at an official retailer. Jackpot.com basically mimics lotteries worldwide to make it easy to play in international lotteries no matter where you live.

You can see Jackpot.com’s Malta license here and its UK Gambling Commission license here.

Disclosure: We maintain financial relationships with many of the lottery sites listed here at BestLotterySites.com, including Jackpot.com. However, our reviews are not impacted by these ties. We review all lottery sites with a critical eye in an effort to give readers the full story no matter what.

How It Works

The first time we saw Jackpot.com and read a little about it, our first question was how it all worked. At the time, we were familiar with basic lottery betting options at online bookmakers, which let you bet on the outcomes of various lotteries. But those sites offered small payouts for simply guessing a few numbers. Specifically, what we wanted to know was how Jackpot.com could promise to pay actual jackpot prizes.

We discovered that Jackpot.com could pay out such massive prizes due to insurance agreements with specialized insurance companies. This means if you win a $300 million Powerball prize on Jackpot.com, they will send you all $300 million minus withholding. Even better, you do not need to contact the real lottery to collect your prize. Jackpot.com handles the money side of things and deposits 100% of your winnings straight to your bank account.

That brings us to the primary advantage offered by Jackpot.com. When you win money, Jackpot.com takes care of everything with no action necessary on your part. Even if you win a large jackpot, you do not need to pack your bags and fly overseas to claim the winnings from a foreign lottery operator. In fact, the lotteries you bet on at Jackpot.com are not involved at all beyond being a source for numbers and prize amounts.

That advantage is simultaneously the biggest disadvantage. If you prefer to buy real, physical tickets, Jackpot.com is not for you. Other sites such as TheLotter actually go out and buy real tickets from authorized lottery retailers and then upload scanned images of those tickets so you can see that you are indeed the true owner of those tickets.

Jackpot.com does not work like that at all because it never buys tickets. The only way Jackpot.com is connected to official lotteries is by monitoring them for winning numbers and payout information. Jackpot.com does not buy tickets, and it has no official connection to the lotteries it covers. It simply monitors major lotteries and matches their payouts at all times.

Betting on lotteries at Jackpot.com is a process similar to buying actual tickets. You choose the lottery you wish to play, select some tickets to purchase and pick your numbers or have the computer pick numbers for you at random. Then, all you need to do is submit your order and watch the next drawing. Jackpot.com matches all prize levels ranging from the smallest prizes all the way up to the top jackpot.

Lottery Betting Options at Jackpot.com

Jackpot.com covers all the world’s biggest lotteries. Cover major drawings such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and EuroJackpot and various national lotteries such as SuperEnalotto, the Irish Lotto, Polish Lotto, French Loto, and many more.

All of these lotteries are made available to all members of Jackpot.com, regardless of location. After all, that is the point of online lottery tickets in the first place. Being able to log in and play in a world of lottery drawings is the main selling point of sites like Jackpot.com.

As of this review, Jackpot.com offers betting on 18 lotteries. They cover all the biggest drawings, but the full list of accepted lotteries is slightly short compared to some other lottery sites. It would be nice to see more lotteries made available.

VIP Club

If you purchase a subscription to any lottery at Jackpot.com lottery, you automatically become a member of the VIP Club and receive special benefits, including birthday gifts, VIP customer support, weekly giveaways, and monthly giveaways.

The weekly, monthly, and birthday rewards change regularly but are always interesting. At the time of this review, Jackpot.com gave away a 1-year Amazon Prime membership for its weekly prize and a house-cleaning iRobot for its monthly giveaway. The birthday gifts vary but offer a smaller reward of some sort each year as a “thank you” for being a loyal customer.

Chief Complaint: Withholding Rules

Jackpot.com is a worthwhile online lottery app for the most part, but we have one major complaint with the site. In the terms and conditions page, Jackpot.com explains that if you win the top prize in Powerball or Mega Millions, Jackpot.com reserves the right to choose whether to give you a lump-sum payment or the annuity option (annual payments for 30 years).

Furthermore, Jackpot.com automatically deducts 39.6% of Powerball and Mega Millions winnings to account for taxes. This occurs even if its insurance provider pays Jackpot.com without taxes taken out of the source lottery. Their reasoning for doing this is dubious at best, as they explain the purpose of withholding nearly 40% of the prize amount is “to place the Player in a similar economic position they would have been having they played the Source Lottery.”

This is the single biggest disadvantage of playing at Jackpot.com. The good thing is this withholding rule only applies to Powerball and Mega Millions. Other than that one issue, we have no major complaints regarding Jackpot.com. Overall, this is a quality service with fast payments and inexpensive tickets compared to some competition.

Online Scratch Cards

In addition to lottery betting, Jackpot.com has a collection of instant win scratch card games. These games are not connected to any real-world lottery but play just like the same scratch games you can buy locally. Basically, you buy the card, scratch it off to reveal the symbols underneath, and win money if your symbols match the winning combinations.

These scratch cards work much like their real-world equivalents with multiple prize levels and a rare top jackpot that offers significant payouts. Some of these games can be purchased for as little as €0.05 per card, while some bigger games start at €2.00 per card. Discounts are offered for purchasing 5, 10, 20, or 30 at a time, and top jackpots max out at about €50,000.

Each of the scratch card games at Jackpot.com is licensed by either the Malta Gaming Authority or the UK Gambling Commission. This license means these games are audited for fairness and have been deemed to be truly random.

There are 20 different scratch cards to choose from in total. Each scratch card has up to 10 different prize levels ranging from a tiny payout of €0.10 to a top prize of €50,000 in the bigger games. The following chart lists all scratch cards and their lowest prize, highest prize, and the odds of winning each. Just keep in mind there are many prize levels between the lowest and highest payout for each game.

Payouts

Jackpot.com will deposit the winnings into your account as quickly as possible when it comes to getting paid. Smaller win amounts are paid directly by Jackpot.com and are usually credited to you quickly. Jackpot wins take a little while longer as Jackpot.com must first collect from its insurance carrier and then credit the funds to your account.

The minimum withdrawal amount is €5, and players may withdraw winnings up to €1,000 at any time via bank transfer, Visa, MasterCard, Neteller, Skrill, and most other payment methods. Larger wins require you to contact Jackpot.com for specific details.

Overall, claiming your winnings is a straightforward process because Jackpot.com pays you directly. Unlike other lottery sites, you do not need to contact the lottery operator to collect your prize.

This brings us to our second complaint: Jackpot.com does not allow an anonymous collection of jackpot prizes. If you win a big payout, Jackpot.com reserves the right to have you participate in marketing activities and news of your win.
